Sophie Rosen
Sophie
Sophie is warm, curious, and quick to laugh. Sophie loves competitive swimming, songwriting, baking, and volunteering at the animal shelter. Some of Sophie's favorite things are iced matcha, Broadway cast albums, her golden retriever Biscuit, and thrifting for vintage denim. Sophie is especially proud of qualifying for the state swim championships and writing her first original song. "standing before everyone she loves to share what this Torah portion means to her, and dancing all night with her friends" — Sophie, on becoming a Bat Mitzvah
The Celebration

Evening Celebration
Join us for dinner, dancing, and celebrating Sophie into Jewish adulthood.
Parashat Vayera
Parashat Vayera describes the three visitors to Abraham, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the birth of Isaac, and the binding of Isaac. Sophie was especially drawn to Abraham running to welcome three strangers into his tent, because it reminds her that even a small act of hospitality can make someone feel completely at home; she has been meeting with Cantor Levine every week to prepare her d'var Torah and the blessings she will lead.
Sophie Rosen will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah.
Paws & Hearts Shelter Drive
Sophie's mitzvah project is raising supplies and funds for the Westfield Animal Shelter. She has volunteered there every weekend for the past two years and wanted every dog and cat waiting for a home to feel loved. Sophie is collecting blankets, toys, and donations at every Mitzvah event and running a bake sale with friends. Sophie hopes it will help the shelter care for more animals and inspire her friends to start volunteering too.
Goal: 500 lbs of pet supplies and $2,500 for the shelter
